Ongoing session at Hindi Primary School

This year Safaridoctors launched a youth program tailored to not just transform the lives of individual students but also shape the future of youth development in the region we serve. Safari Doctors' visionary Life Skills Pilot Program, championed by Founder and Director Umra Omar and our dedicated Deputy Director Albert Obbuyi, is creating a blueprint for holistic education that goes beyond textbooks and exams.

These ongoing activities are illuminating the program's transformative impact. With the passionate engagement of teachers, youth health ambassadors, and students led by our program officer, Amina Mohamed, these schools are not just participants; they're pioneers, setting the course for future program iterations.

Nurturing Dreams, Building Futures, Challenging Norms, and Embracing Equality are some of the topics that Umra Omar and the Deputy Director discussed as they led an inspiring session at one of the sessions at Hindi Primary, empowering students to dream big and equipping them with the tools to turn those dreams into reality. The palpable enthusiasm was a testament to the program's ability to ignite a spark in young minds, fostering ambition and a belief in their own potential as they embarked on a journey of self-discovery and goal-setting. and other sessions led by their teachers, students engaged in thought-provoking discussions about gender roles and stereotypes. They learned to question societal expectations and challenge harmful norms, fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect. The program's emphasis on gender equality empowers these young individuals to break free from limiting beliefs and become agents of positive change in their communities.

These schools aren't just piloting a program; they're helping to shape its future. By incorporating crucial life skills like critical thinking, decision-making, communication, and problem-solving alongside essential ASRH knowledge, Safari Doctors is paving the way for a more comprehensive approach to youth development.

The pilot program's impact extends beyond the classroom. Through meticulous baseline and endline surveys, expertly analyzed by Dr. Paula Tavrow, an adjunct professor at UCLA, we are gathering invaluable data to measure progress and identify areas for improvement. These insights will inform curriculum refinement, ensuring that future programs are even more effective in empowering the youth in Kenya.

Safari Doctors is continuously inviting donors and stakeholders to be part of this transformative journey for change and witness the power of holistic education as we empower the youth to embrace their full potential and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
