Safari Doctors in CNN Heroes Covid-19 report

In 2016, Umra Omar won a CNN Heroes award for her work with Safari Doctors. In September this year, CNN Heroes followed up on three winners who are fighting Covid-19 on Africa’s frontlines, trying to slow the pandemic. 

In the report Umra says, “There's a lot of misinformation that it's a disease that's not going to come all the way to the rural areas. Information sharing is the number one key.” She says, “The biggest silver lining for us is more rigorous hand-washing campaigns that are seeing a reduction of cases like diarrhea, and seeing how the young kids now really are thorough in hygiene.” Watch the report here.
